If you need dedicated graphics, you can compare the best ASUS 18 gaming laptops for higher refresh rates.
How to Choose an ASUS 18 Laptop
Compare Display Refresh Rates
Look closely at the panel refresh rate before you decide. ASUS 18-inch panels in this lineup offer speeds from 144Hz up to 300Hz. If you play fast-paced multiplayer titles, a higher refresh rate like the 300Hz panel on the ASUS ROG Strix G18 300Hz RTX 5070 Ti ensures fluid motion tracking. For slower adventure titles, a standard 144Hz panel provides smooth motion for daily gaming.
Check Weight and Dimensions
Examine total chassis weight and depth to ensure your desk can accommodate the machine. These large-format laptops range from 6.28 pounds to 10 pounds. A heavier model like the 10-pound ASUS ROG Strix 18 144Hz Gaming Laptop is best reserved for a permanent workspace setup. If you plan to move the device between rooms frequently, choose a model near 6.28 pounds to ease handling.
Assess System Memory Capacity
Check the installed RAM specification to match your typical multitasking demands. Models in this category come with either 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 system memory. If you run heavy creative applications, streaming software, and background utilities simultaneously, choose 32GB of RAM. The ASUS ROG Strix 18 RTX 5060 Laptop provides 32GB standard, giving you headroom for multitasking without requiring an immediate memory upgrade.
Evaluate Internal Solid-State Storage
Review the internal solid-state drive capacity based on your software installation needs. Large modern game installations and media project assets consume substantial drive space quickly. While a standard 1TB PCIe SSD covers several titles, dedicated libraries require more room. The ASUS ROG Strix 18 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop provides a 4TB SSD, eliminating the need to carry external storage or open the chassis.
Select the Operating System
Pay attention to the installed operating system edition when reviewing specifications. ASUS equips these 18-inch models with either Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro. If your workflow involves remote desktop hosting, enterprise domain joining, or BitLocker drive encryption, select Windows 11 Pro. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 RTX 5070 Ti Laptop ships with Windows 11 Pro for complete management support.
